| Financial Assistance
Council provides financial assistance to not-for-profit community groups and organisations to assist them to undertake worthwhile community projects.
Financial assistance will be provided on the basis of the relative merits of each application and the benefits to the community provided by the project/activities of the organisation.
All requests are to be submitted on the Financial Assistance Program Application form.
Council has already allocated the majority of Financial Assistance for the 2009/10 year. A small amount of financial assistance remains to meet hall and facility waiver requests and other small requests as approved by Council during the year.
There are three categories of financial Assistance:
1. Recurrent
Council provides recurrent financial assistance to the following organisations:
- Lithgow Show Society
- Ironfest Festival
- Celebrate Lithgow/Lithgow Business Awards
- Western Region Academy of Sport annual training camp
- White Ribbon Day
- Solid Fuel Incentive to Community
- Portland Art Show
- Schools within Council’s area will be provided an amount of $50 per school per annum as a contribution towards end of year academic prizes, for which no application will be required;
2. Non-Recurrent financial Assistance
Council will call for applications for non-recurrent financial assistance twice each year with the next rounds being April 2010 and October 2010. This financial assistance will be made available in July 2010 and December 2010 respectively.
3. Waiving of Council Fees and Charges
