EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST – NOMINATION TO LITHGOW LOCAL HERITAGE ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Council at its meeting of 18 August, 2014 resolved to establish a Local Heritage Advisory Committee under Section 355 of the Local Government Act. The Committee will be made up of members from the community, community heritage groups, Council and Council staff.
The purpose of this Committee is to assist Council in the management and promotion of local environmental and cultural heritage items and places.
Membership on the committee will be for the term of the Council and the committee will meet at least twice per year.
Council is calling for expressions of interest/ nominations from the community for the following membership positions:
- 2 community members
- 1 community member representative of the local Indigenous community
Expressions of interest/nominations in writing should state:
- Your name and address
- A short paragraph outlining your experience in the area of heritage conservation, management and promotion
- A short paragraph outlining your interest in being a member of the Lithgow Local Heritage Advisory Committee
- Any skills or qualifications that you may be able to bring to the Committee.
Expressions of interest/nominations will be received in writing for a period of twenty-one (21) days up until the close of business on 25 September, 2014. Nominations will then be presented to Council who will consider all nominations and determine the appointed members to the Committee.

EXHIBITION OF COUNCIL POLICIES
At its meeting of 18th August 2014, Council resolved to place on public exhibition for a period of 28 days
Policy 8.4 - Investment Policy
The draft policy is available from Customer Services and on the Council’s website. Written submissions addressed to the General Manager and marked “Submission on Draft Policy” must be received by 4pm on Friday 26th September 2014 to be considered in the finalisation of the policy.
EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST - AUDIT COMMITTEE
Lithgow City Council and Oberon Council are seeking expressions of interest from appropriately qualified, independent persons to become a member of the Lithgow-Oberon Audit Committee.
The Audit Committee provides both Councils with independent assurance and assistance in the area of risk, control, compliance and financial reporting.
Applicants should have a background in a relevant area such as finance, business or quality management, auditing or compliance, and have high level analytical and communication skills.
The term of appointment to the Committee is for two years. The Committee meets up to four times per year and the appointed independent members will be paid a per meeting allowance. Shortlisted applicants may be required to attend an interview.
