ACCOUNTS RECIEVABLE OFFICER - Position number 01/09 7 January 2009

Applications are invited for the position of Accounts Receivable Officer in Council’s Internal Services Division. The position is primarily responsible for maintaining and co-ordinating the accounts receivable process including debt recovery and the maintenance of associated databases and documentation. The position also co-ordinates Councils insurances and associated claims.

The successful applicant will have a demonstrated knowledge of accounts payable and debt recovery processes and will be competent in the use of Microsoft Office programs. Relevant experience and knowledge of Local Government is desirable.

A salary range from $783.22 to $860.59 is being offered per 35 hour week dependent on skills, qualifications and experience. Conditions of employment include access to a rostered day off each three week cycle.

WASTE WATER PLANT OPERATOR - Position number 47/08 24 December 2008

The position is part of Council’s Assets Division and is primarily responsible for the management and maintenance of Treatment Plants and pump stations and maintenance of wastewater mains and services.

The successful applicant must have a Sewerage Treatment Plant Operators Ticket and Confined Spaces Ticket.

A salary range from $746.32 to $823.51 per week is being offered. Favourable conditions of employment include a rostered day off system.

PAYROLL OFFICER - Position number 50/08 19 December 2008

Applications are invited for the position of Payroll Officer in Council’s Organisational Development Division. The position is primarily responsible for preparing, processing and maintaining Council’s payroll function.

The successful applicant will have previous related experience in payroll and a thorough knowledge of employment conditions, superannuation and taxation requirements.

A salary range from $805.86 to $966.23 is being offered per 35 hour week, dependent on skills, qualifications and experience.

ASSET MANAGER - Position number 49/08 9 December 2008


Located less than 2 hours easy drive from Sydney, Lithgow offers rural lifestyle opportunities without compromising on all the modern facilities associated with a vibrant regional centre. Lithgow City Council is currently seeking applications for the position of Assets Manager. The position is responsible for managing all aspects of Council’s Assets Division in accordance with Council Strategic, Management, Corporate and Business Plans within legislative and budgetary requirements. The Assets Manager is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of Council’s Water, Wastewater and Waste/Recycling functions.

The successful applicant will hold tertiary qualifications at the degree level in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related discipline, as well as five years relevant experience in a related field. The successful applicant will also have experience in managing and leading a team of staff to achieve desired outcomes.

The appointment will be based upon a 5-year performance based contract, with a remuneration package from $81K being offered which includes salary, compulsory superannuation and motor vehicle. An attractive market component is available for outstanding applicants.
