1841/42 Eskbank House built by Thomas Brown
1881 Thomas Brown sold Eskbank House to James Rutherford of the Eskbank Ironworks Company.
1892 Eskbank Ironworks Company was sold to William Sandford.
1907 William Sandford sold his Lithgow interests to the Hoskins Family Company which later became Australian Iron and Steel Ltd.
c 1925

Construction of the wooden flooring and roofing of the open courtyard between the two rear wings, the installation of a fire place in the enclosed courtyard and extension to the breakfast room.

1948

The Council of the City of Lithgow accepted transfer of ownership of the property from Australian Iron and Steel Ltd.

c 1960 Some restoration work was done to the house - new floors in some rooms and repainting.
1998 The Breakfast room was fitted with new flooring and along with the enclosed courtyard was painted.
2001

Following receipt of Centenary of Federation Grant Funding the interior and exterior of the house was painted, minor carpentry type work was carried out and works commenced to restore the gardens to c1925. This work is ongoing and will take several years to complete.

2003

Lithgow City Council accepted management and control of Eskbank House Museum and Grounds from the Lithgow District Historical Society.

Undated •The installation and later removal of town gas followed by the installation of electricity.

•The removal of the wooden shingle roof and replacement with galvanised iron.
